Wolf Laundry’s Commitment to Environmental Responsibility

At Wolf Laundry, we believe that our responsibility extends beyond providing top-tier laundry equipment and services. We are deeply committed to environmental sustainability, and this commitment is ingrained in every aspect of our operations.

Environmental Policy:

We understand the importance of having a clear environmental policy. That’s why we have a comprehensive Environmental Policy in place. It’s readily accessible to all our employees at all times. We continuously review and update this policy to ensure that it remains aligned with our evolving environmental goals and the latest industry standards.

ISO14001 Environmental Management Accreditation:

Wolf Laundry is proud to have attained ISO14001 Environmental Management accreditation. This prestigious certification signifies that we have established a formal system for improving our environmental performance on an ongoing basis. We are committed to minimising our environmental footprint, and this includes the efficient use of resources and a reduction in waste generation.

Equipment Recycling and Refurbishment:

We firmly believe in the value of recycling and sustainability. When laundry equipment is no longer commercially viable for our clients, we take responsibility for its proper disposal. We remove and replace such equipment with fully functioning items. The old equipment doesn’t end up in landfills; instead, it’s given a new lease on life. Our dedicated team refurbishes and resells the equipment right here in the UK whenever possible. In cases where it cannot be resold locally, we transport it to our contacts in Poland and Macedonia, where it finds new homes.

Adherence to the WEEE Directive:

To ensure that finite resources are available for future generations, we abide by the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive. This directive governs how electrical appliances are recycled and disposed of, preventing these items from ending up inappropriately in landfills. Responsible disposal is part of our commitment to protecting the environment.

Recycling Packaging:

We take every opportunity to recycle packaging materials. Cardboard packaging is sent to recycling centres, while the tubs used for our detergent and other chemicals are meticulously cleaned, sterilised, and reused. We even label our used boxes with light-hearted and amusing messages to encourage our staff to consider reusing cardboard. Sustainability is not just a goal; it’s a culture we promote.

Efficient Laundry Equipment:

Our Schulthess machines are designed with efficiency in mind. They use approximately 15 litre less water than competitors during a 65-degree cycle at the 10kg and 13kg sizes. Additionally, our machines boast lower electrical consumption, resulting in significant cost savings. Our commitment to energy-efficient solutions is an ongoing focus, both for us and our partners at Schulthess.

Remote Diagnostics and Connectivity:

As part of our continuous improvement efforts, we are rolling out innovative ways to remotely diagnose and monitor machines. This reduces the need for unnecessary service visits, ultimately leading to decreased fuel consumption and machine downtime. It includes features like a chat function on our website and refining our customer service questions to expedite problem resolution. Furthermore, our Schulthess machines are being equipped with remote connectivity, allowing us to provide valuable data on cycle temperatures, water and electrical usage. This empowers our customers to manage their laundry operations more efficiently.

Transition to Electric and Hybrid Vehicles:

In the past 18 months, our Senior Leadership team and field sales managers have transitioned to electric or hybrid vehicles. This shift toward eco-friendly transportation aligns with our broader sustainability goals. Our head office already boasts six charging points, and we have plans to double this number in the next 18 months. Additionally, we’re currently testing electric vans, with the intention of adopting them as our leases expire over the next three years.

At Wolf Laundry, we believe that environmental responsibility is not just a corporate obligation; it’s a moral imperative. We are dedicated to reducing our environmental impact, embracing sustainability, and providing eco-conscious solutions to our valued customers. Join us on this journey towards a cleaner, greener future.
